Are you a fan of crossword puzzles? Do you want to come up with your own crossword puzzles? If you answered “Yes” and “Yes” to the two questions before, then you need to take a look at a specialized software application called FineCrosser.

This application is perfectly suited for the creation of crossword puzzles. FineCrosser will come up with crosswords just like the ones you see in magazines. Here’s what I am talking about:
- Direction of the word is indicated by an arrow. The arrow tells you where the word starts.
- You can include pictures into the crossword puzzle you come up with FineCrosser. The images can be used as clues for the puzzle.
- In the crossword puzzle grid, you can place clues.

To come up with a puzzle you need only go through three simple steps. Step 1: come up with a list of words to be used in the crossword puzzle. Step 2: Specify the size of the crossword puzzle and customize other parameters if you so desire. Step 3: Set individual features for the crossword puzzle, like black cells, places where pictures will be inserted.

Here are some additional technical details about FineCrosser you might want to know about. FineCrosser weighs in at some 8MB, so in a high-speed internet connection it shouldn’t take long to get the application off the web and onto your computer. Once downloaded, the application has to be installed. This is a simple enough process – just follow the instructions on the setup wizard. Please note that FineCrosser is meant to be used on top of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system. Please note that FineCrosser is not freeware. You can use the demo version free of charge, but this isn’t much fun since it is limited. For example you cannot load extra dictionaries, you cannot print a crossword puzzle, and you cannot export crossword puzzles to various graphic formats.
